Coaching Practice – How to Double Your Income Just by Charging More For Your Coaching Service
By Anne Geraghty

Life coaching is a lucrative career even in this current economic condition. Remember that the services you are offering will help people improve their lives. Whatever your field of expertise is, the purpose of your profession is to provide long term stability and happiness to your clients. How to charge more for coaching is a matter of good business presentation.

Now, more than any time, people are looking for their money’s worth. Emphasizing on the value of your services is the key on how to charge more for coaching. Focus on the results you have produced for your clients. This is especially useful for previous clients. You need to make them realize that you are increasing your fee for a reason beneficial to them.

Create a genuinely valuable coaching program. If you can present a realistic program that could benefit them in the shortest time possible, this will justify your professional fee. Knowing that you have worked hard in creating a valuable coaching program will give you the confidence to ask for a higher rate. Being comfortable with your rate is important on how to charge more for coaching.

Avoid comparing your rate to others in your field of expertise. If you think about it, this is a common practice among competitors. The tendency is to undercharge to get more clients. You will end up undercharging, too, if you go this route. Charge what you feel is appropriate and what you feel confident about. To determine what is appropriate, add the expenses you need to run your business (including your salary) and divide it to the number of people you can coach each month.

Most important of all, build a solid practice. This is your license to charging more for your coaching. Enhance your knowledge by getting additional education. Get a successful coach for a mentor, you also need someone to coach you in developing your skills.

There are many ways to add value to your service.

Successfully planning in business

What most entrepreneurs do is not write anything down and don’t plan at all, if you are one of those, WAKE UP and just do it.

For those of you who already write down your targets and goals, plan out your target and goals in to monthly milestones, you are already half way there in terms of great planning.

When you plan, you need to start with the end in mind and work backwards to ensure you have a vision of exactly what the end looks like and all the things you need to do to achieve your success.

What all successful people do is plan daily.  Never start your day before you see it on paper.  The best time to put it on paper is yesterday!  The last thing you should do each day is plan for the next day.  This gives you subconscious time to work away at the challenges faced with the next day so that you can work more freely.

Go on try it  -  You’ll see fantastic results.

One Key To Success

When my clients are looking to become successful, they usually choose a path and go for it.  The take lots of action and go go go.

The one key they all seem to miss before they come to me is that in order to be successful, people need to know who you are, they need to know that your good at what you do.

The quickest way to get this is to associate yourself with someone who is known and who is considered great at what they do.  You can do this in the way of Joint Venture with them or to ask them how they did it and just copy them!

LET GO!

I saw this and thought it was a nice follow up from what I was talking about in my last entry! :-)

To “let go” does not mean to stop caring, it means I can’t do it for someone else.
To “let go” is not to cut myself off, it’s the realization I can’t control another.
To “let go” is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To “let go” is not to try to change or blame another, it’s to make the most of myself.
To “let go” is not to care for, but to care about.
To “let go” is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To “let go” is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.
To “let go” is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others
to effect their destinies.
To “let go” is not to be protective, it’s to permit another to face reality.
To “let go” is not to deny, but to accept.
To “let go” is not to nag, scold, or argue, but instead to search out my own
shortcomings and correct them.
To “let go” is not to adjust everything to my desires, but to take each day as it
comes, and cherish myself in it.
To “let go” is not to criticize and regulate anybody, but to try to become what I
dream I can be.
To “let go” is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.
To “let go” is not to lose power, but to be open to the power within.
To “let go” is to fear less, and love more.

GET RID OF NEGITIVE BELIEFS AND THOUGHTS – heres how

The biggest blockage to moving forward in any business is fear. To turn the word fear around – it is lack of belief in your own ability to get through all the challenges and see success in the business.

All our thoughts and beliefs come from a number of different areas. Here is listed just 3 of those areas:
- Education – what we learned growing up.
- Past Outcomes – what happened to us before
- Creative Thinking – how we think it happened – every tell a story so much that the last time you told it, bits were added to make it more interesting or more funny, well our brain does this to old memories of events in life.

Here are 3 great questions to ask yourself when you have no belief in yourself.

1) What am I thinking?
2) Where did I get this negative through / belief from – what age was I when I first felt it? (be very specific) What was happening then?
3) List at least 2 reasons why this was complete and utter rubbish and why this negative belief or thought is not true?

Have fun with it – do it, you’ll be amazed how you can remove the negative belief quickly.

The Building phase

When you are building a business, you really need to plan out exactly what you should be doing on a daily and hourly basis to ensure growth each and every day.
I stop each hour and ask is this going to make me money? ££~$$~€€
If the answer is no – I check – is this the best use of my time right now?
Some people who are new to the area of business are not spending time planning out exactly what they want to achieve in six, nine, twelve months. With no direct target, it is very hard to plan. When you are aiming just to have a business up but not specifics like how much money? How many clients? How am I making the money specifically? There is no direct daily focus. If you want to make €500, £5000 $50000, you need to break that down and see, how much do you need to be earning today?
If you are unsure of how to plan, talk to us or someone that has great experience in the area of business planning. This will be invaluable in your business.

Some things should just be done for the fun of it.
Not because they’re inexpensive, practical, organic,
logical, fashionable, modest, brilliant, green, expected,
proper, spiritual, thinning, fattening, prudent, or

Vitiman C and Motivation are sooo similar

One of my fantastic clients, Paul Ivory sent me a fantastic text message ane I think it will help any self employed person today.  (Remember where you saw him first!!)

Motivation is like Vitamin C, we can’t store it.

I was speaking with a new client yesterday, who, because of the recession was finding it hard to get clients.  Old large revenue generating clients were not spending the money anymore.  This particular client, works as a coach in large multinationals and large English companies.
His mindset changed, he started questioning his ability as a Coach and this is all too normal in today’s economy when we take a knock!
The solution:
Work harder on yourself, on your mindset, on your motivation because we can’t store it.  Ensure that you are doing daily and weekly tasks that help you focus on getting your mindset right for yourself, your clients and your business.
